Funding opportunities for the second year in Paris (MAPPA Program)
In addition to the Erasmus+ grant and possible support from the University of Padua through the Vinci Project (Université Franco-Italienne), several additional funding opportunities are available for MAPPA students during their second year in Paris.
1. PSL University Scholarships:
Each spring, all first-year MAPPA students are ranked by a committee at PSL University. The top-ranked N students receive the following scholarship to support their second year in Paris:
- €500/month for 10 months
Note: The number of available scholarships (N) varies from year to year depending on available funding. Over the past years, the average number of recipients has been 5.
2. Eiffel Excellence Scholarships:
MAPPA students are encouraged to apply for the Eiffel Excellence Scholarships, funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. These scholarships are highly competitive and prestigious. Applications are typically due in Fall of each year.
- €1,181/month for up to 12 months
3. French Government Scholarships:
Students may also apply in spring of every year for scholarships offered by the French government through the Institut Français.
- €860/month for 6 months
Important Information:
- Scholarships (1), (2), and (3) are not cumulative.
- MAPPA’s French coordinators will assist students in preparing their applications.
Additional Support:
Students who are not selected for either the PSL or Eiffel scholarships may receive additional support of approximately €2000 during their Master’s thesis period, provided that they choose a thesis supervisor affiliated with a PSL laboratory (Dauphine or École Normale Supérieure). This additional support can be combined with the French Governemnt scholarships.
